VCN is a nonprofit charitable volunteer organization based in Nepal founded in 2014 (Govt. Regd. No. 1290 & Social Welfare Council Regd. No. 39746). VCN was established as an initiative to develop the social network between volunteers and community groups with the objective of empowering backward community. Our model is an adaptable approach to community building. We evaluate community resources, develop vision, and take action to create meaningful changes that helps to achieve objective. VCN’s mission is to empower marginalized communities through enhanced Education, Health, Income generation & basic infrastructure programs with special focus on women and children by conducting training and research through mobilizing local and international volunteers to promote equality, economic well-being and basic human rights.
We work to assist and improve the welfare of the underprivileged and marginalized people in our society. Our work includes community rural sustainability development, education and capacity building, technology, literacy, economically self-sustaining activities, women, children and gender issues. We are committed to link people to the community, enlarge vision with the objective of social responsibility. Apart from it, we communicate the world and promote brotherhood. It connects all nooks and corner of the world and enriches social and cultural diversity.

VCN operate mid to long-term community based volunteering service projects, focusing on those most disadvantaged women, children and minority groups. To make our dream successful, we would like to integrate resources from national to global for the sustainable change in Nepal. VCN run ten categories of programs; Orphanages Home Child Care, Teaching English in Community School, Agriculture Management , Child Care Development , Environmental Sanitation Awareness, Women Empowerment , Youth Empowerment, Home Stay and Cultural Exchange Program, Teaching at Buddhist Monastery in Nepal, International Journalism Internship, Community Health Education Program, Environment and Conservation Education Program, Health and Medical Internship, Women Empowerment Studies, Research Program etc . Our overall focus is the work we carry out in the communities, however, we also run teaching, research, administration and public interest projects in and around Kathmandu.
VCN can ensure these projects run consistently, building the trust of the communities and relationships with our partners. We do not leave any stone unturned to make your mission successful. Our international and local volunteers are providing greater support for making this venture successful. They look for volunteer placement as well as providing platform to work as an intern. We also have group volunteer opportunities and Adventure and Volunteer Projects, for those who want to explore short time experience in Nepal.
Nepal is marvelous and diverse country, ranging from the well-known peaks of the Himalaya called Mount Everest to the low-lying regions of the Terai. There are no limitations to express the beauty and attraction of the geographical and cultural landscape of Nepal and the warmth and generosity of the Nepali people that are always heartily welcoming. Despite Nepal’s popular appeal to tourists, it is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world, with over 25% of its population livings below the poverty line. Until now, Nepal has not been able to develop its various sectors which has resulted to widespread poverty, illiteracy, various environmental and health problems. Government of Nepal is not able to fulfill all the needs and demands of its citizen. Considering to these entire present situations prevalent in this country, in the active collaboration of seven enthusiastic volunteers from Nepal and other neighboring foreign countries, VCN is formed. Volunteers Community Nepal was established with a global and wide aim to unite all the volunteers visiting to Nepal throughout the world. Based in classical city, Kathmandu Valley, VCN is a non-governmental organization (NGO) registered with the Social Welfare Council of Nepal.
